Duke of Edinburgh Award – Bronze Skills

Course duration and objective

This course is 1 hour per week for 12 weeks

With over 20 years’ experience working in schools, we can offer specialist courses for the different aspects of school life. This course meets the requirements for the D of E Bronze Award in the skills section. Over the 12 weeks we cover a range of core topics and additional topics – you can opt for our suggested list of topics below, or choose some of your own.

Communication and casualty care
Coping in an emergency
Primary and Secondary survey
Asthma and Eye injuries
Recovery position and Poisons
Bone, muscle and joint injuries
Choking and Electric Shock
Burns and scalds and Fainting
Chest Pain and Bleeding (minor)
Bites and Stings and Anaphylaxis
Resuscitation and AED
Bleeding and shock

Assessment and Qualification

Candidates will be supported and assessed throughout the course
Successful candidates will receive our ’12 Week First Aid Course’ qualification
This certificate is valid for three years
