Basic Life Support – Children

Course duration and objective

This course is 2 hours

We train candidates how to assess if a child is not breathing and how to perform CPR. We’ll also show you how a defibrillator can help with CPR. We know this can be very stressful so we’ll also give you some guidance on how to cope and how to manage a situation like this.

Course content

Assessing situations so you can stay safe, act promptly and know what to do
Recognise if a child is not breathing
Perform CPR on a child
Knowing when to call for an ambulance
Seeing how a defibrillator can help with CPR

Assessment and Qualification

Candidates will be supported and assessed throughout the course
Successful candidates will receive our ‘Basic Life Support – Children’ qualification
This certificate is valid for three years
